How do you say...

It's pronounced "Yock-i-gainey'.  The locals refer to the river simply as the Yough (yock).  Youghiogheny is an Algonquin word meaning "a stream flowing in a contrary direction".  The river flows from West Virginia north to Pennsylvania where it connects with the Monongahela River.

Nestled in the Youghiogheny River valley, Youghiogheny Yarns is the creation of husband and wife team, Todd & Keri Fosbrink.  Color is everywhere in the Youghiogheny valley no matter the season, and Youghiogheny Yarns wants to help you bring some of that color into your life and projects.
